Welcome to the Department of Business Information Systems II
at the University of Trier
The research group on Business Information Systems II was established in 2004 at the University of Trier. We are a young, but internationally well recognized team of scientists. The focus of our research is related to innovations in the areas of electronic business and intelligent search, knowledge and experience management, as well as decision-supported systems. Currently our research focus is extended to ambient intelligence and process-oriented information systems, particularly dealing with agile workflows.
We are especially interested in the advancement and application of new Artificial Intelligence methods, in particular semantic technologies, similarity-based search, machine learning and planning. We combine basic with application-oriented research, including requirements-driven development of new systems for business and administration. We were and are still involved in various research projects funded by the German Research Foundation, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the European Union as well as private enterprises.
