EnMAP

EnMAP (Environmental Mapping and Analysis Program) ist ein geplanter deutscher hyperspektraler Erdbeobachtungssatellit. Er soll ab 2018 Aufnahmen mit 30 m räumlicher Auflösung  von über 200 Spektralkanälen zwischen 420 und 2450 nm Wellenlänge liefern.

Durch die hohe spektrale Auflösung werden quantitative diagnostische Informationen über Vegetation, Landnutzung, Gewässerinhaltsstoffe gewonnen. Die Daten geben Auskunft über die mineralogische Zusammensetzung von Böden und Gesteinen, die Entwicklungsstadien und Schädigungen von Pflanzen oder den Grad der Bodenverschmutzung. EnMAP zählt zu den leistungsstärksten Erdfernerkundungssatelliten, der die Erdoberfläche im sichtbaren und infraroten Spektralbereich aufzeichnet. Alle Materialien, z.B. Pflanzen und Mineralien, weisen charakteristische spektrale Eigenschaften auf, die mit dem Hyperspektralsensor erfasst werden können. Damit ist, im Gegensatz zu herkömmlichen Multispektralsystemen, eine diagnostische Analyse von Materialien möglich. Die satellitengestützte Beobachtung durch EnMAP erlaubt den Wissenschaftlern zudem wiederholte Aufzeichnungen derselben Flächen mit dem gleichen Messinstrument. Damit lassen sich zeitlich veränderliche Phänomene wie die Entwicklung von Ackerpflanzen oder die Verschiebung von Klimazonen gezielt erfassen und im globalen Kontext analysieren.

EnSAG

Die EnMAP Science Advisory Group wurde gegründet, um Hochschulen und Forschungsinstitute bei der Vorbereitung auf die Nutzung von EnMAP-Daten zu unterstützen. Außer dem Principal Investigator (zuständig für Bodenkunde und Geologie) gibt es Gruppen für Gewässerfernerkundung, Landwirtschaft, Urbane Anwendungen, Forst und natürliche Ökosysteme. Geldgeber ist das Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Technologie.

Die EnSAG-Gruppe an der Universität Trier ist zuständig für die Entwicklung von Algorithmen zur Nutzung abbildender Spektroskopie für forstliche Anwendungen.

In der ersten Förderphase 2010 bis 2012 war – neben dem Projektleiter Prof. Dr. Joachim Hill und dem Postdoc Dr. Henning Buddenbaum – Pyare Püschel als Doktorand im Projekt beschäftigt. 

In der zweiten Förderphase 2013 bis 2015 hat Sandra Dotzler als Doktorandin im Projekt gearbeitet, in der dritten Phase seit 2016 Barbara Paschmionka.
