Trier University Research Fund

Start-up Funding for Research Projects & Support for Doctoral and Postdoctoral Projects 

Trier University provides the financial means for the seed funding of research projects, as well as for the support for doctoral and postdoctoral projects on a regular basis.

Apart from the project’s quality, its potential to secure third-party funding, or to foster research activity of early career researchers, play a decisive role for the eligibility of the proposals.

Proposals can be submitted until 30 September 2026 (start-up funding starts in January).

The submission deadline of 2027 will be announced shortly.

Travel expense funding for travel to conferences and congresses

Eligible for this funding by the Research Fund are all doctoral and postdoctoral researchers of Trier University that participate with their own contribution in an international conference abroad.

Applications can be submitted any time to the Research Support Office.
