UniGR-CBS Steering Committee

The UniGR-CBS Steering Committee meeting will take place in June. We are delighted to welcome our colleagues from UniGR's partner universities to Trier to discuss important issues concerning the present and future of the Center for Border Studies.

The UniGR-CBS Steering Committee is the central steering board of the Interdisciplinary Center of Expertise. It takes strategic decisions and sets the framework for the cooperation. The Steering Committee consists of two scientific representatives from each partner university as well as representatives of the University of the Greater Region. Trier University is represented by Prof. Dr. Jennifer Turner and JProf. Dr. Jennifer Leetsch.
 


Conference for Carceral Geography

The 6th International Conference for Carceral Geography will take place at Trier University on 15 and 16 September 2026. This year's conference will focus on an interdisciplinary examination of the topics of Carcerality, Borders, and Mobility. The event is being organised by the Carceral Geography Working Group.

Workshop “Tourism and Leisure at the Border”

From 30 September to 01 October 2026, UniGR-CBS Trier invites you to a two-day workshop in Trier led by Prof. Dr. Fabian Frenzel and JProf. Dr. Michael Mießner. The workshop is a continuation of the Open Space held in November 2025 as part of the Seminar Border Studies and deals with the topic of Tourism and Leisure at the Border. Interested researchers are cordially invited to participate in the conference and take part in the cross-border exchange.
