Our researchers Simon Münker and Nils Schwager will present their paper, “Don't Trust Generative Agents to Mimic Communication on Social Networks Unless You Benchmarked their Empirical Realism,” co-authored with Prof. Achim Rettinger, at the Conference of the European Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics (EACL) in Rabat.
In their work, the authors critically examine the empirical realism of generative agents designed to simulate communication on social networks. They argue that such systems should not be trusted to model real-world online discourse unless they have been rigorously benchmarked against empirical data.
