Nikolaus Koch Stiftung

The Nikolaus Koch Stiftung is committed to fostering early, school, vocational and advanced education in the Trier region. It supports, amongst others, schools, Trier University and the Trier University of Applied Sciences, grants scholarships for particularly gifted and students eligible for funding, and confers the Nikolaus Koch Award.

The foundation’s guiding principle is to seed fund individual projects, while refraining from full funding. Considering the currently problematic financial status of public budgets, the additional funding by the Nikolaus Koch Stiftung gains particularly in importance.
Within the scope of the foundation’s statutes, research projects are eligible for funding, so long as they are explicitly practice-oriented and show measurable benefits or applicability.

Basic research needs to be in line with the foundation’s purpose.

In accordance with the foundation’s statutes, the funding is restricted to the former administrative district of Tier.
