The social phenotype in Triple X
Contact: Gregor Domes
In cooperation with Prof. Dr. Jobst Meyer (Behavioral Genetics) and Dr. Petra Fellinger (Genetikum Neu-Ulm).
This project investigates the social and psychological characteristics of adult women with Triple X syndrome (47,XXX). We aim to systematically assess psychopathological symptoms, social-cognitive abilities, and social behavior, as well as brain structure and function. By combining behavioral, psychological, and neuroimaging measures, we seek to identify possible neural mechanisms underlying the social interaction difficulties frequently reported in this population. Our ultimate goal is to improve the understanding of Triple X syndrome and to contribute to better recognition and support of affected women in clinical and social contexts.
