The English ‘Sprachpraxis’ team at Trier University is happy to be hosting the 2026 GASP conference on September 17th and 18th 2026.
Our conference theme is ‘What does Sprachpraxis bring to the English Studies table?’ To explore this question, we're looking forward to a rich mix of big-picture discussions on the role of Sprachpraxis, alongside hands-on, skills-focused workshops on language teaching at the tertiary level.
The sessions explore how language practice fits into the German university landscape today, offering a balance of macro perspectives on culture, critical thinking, and global citizenship alongside discrete skills, classroom methodologies, and tools for language learning. (And yes, generative AI might just make a cameo or two 😉.)
The conference will include a keynote session by Professor Henning Rossa, and plenty of opportunities for networking and sharing insights with colleagues.
