• Who can apply: German citizens who are already enrolled in the Master’s program in International Relations and Diplomacy.
• Application deadline: Students in the Master’s program in International Relations and Diplomacy may apply by September 27, 2026.
• Duration of stay: 4 or 9 months in the U.S. during the fall semester of 2027 (beginning in August/September)
• What is covered: Fulbright Germany provides funding for living expenses in the amount of $13,800 for four months or $31,000 for nine months, as well as any applicable fees incurred upon enrollment at the U.S. partner university.
• No U.S. tuition fees for TAD participants
• Participation in the Accident and Sickness Program for Exchanges (ASPE) (please check in advance which U.S. partner universities accept the ASPE insurance policy).
• A J-1 visa is issued free of charge.

  Membership in the global Fulbright network.

  Access to political networks and research resources.

  Preparation and networking seminar from April 22 to 25, 2027, in Berlin as part of the celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of Fulbright Germany.

• Good to know: It is generally possible to combine this scholarship with other scholarships, provided they do not serve the same purpose (covering living expenses).
