M.Sc. Economics in 6 Majors

The master program M.Sc. Economics is a two-year full-time program that combines application and research oriented courses and has a special emphasis on empirical methods.

In addition to a thorough training in economic theory and econometrics, you can - depending on your major - attend a varying number of courses offered, e.g., by the Business Department, the Political Science Department or the Sociology Department.

One typically starts taking modules from the major area of focus in the second semester (when starting in the winter term). You can find the possible modules for each major in the table below. Each of the modules is either 5 or 10 credit points (CP). If you pass modules for at least 30 CP in one of the majors, the name of the major will be recorded in the final Master's certificate. Still, you can choose any of these modules with a total value of up to 60 CP irrespective of their area of focus.
