More and more cities are developing strategies to initiate transformations to sustainability while increasing their resilience to a variety of environmental, social and economic challenges. Using examples from Freiburg, Germany and Melbourne, Australia, the lecture discusses how measures can be implemented and which challenges are associated with them.
