Prof. Dr. Sören Köcher
Short Biography
Since August 2025, Sören Köcher has been Professor of Marketing and Innovation at Trier University.
After studying Business Administration at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, he worked as a research associate at the Chair of Marketing at TU Dortmund University, where he earned his doctorate on decision-making in customer loyalty programs and later taught and conducted research as an Assistant Professor. He subsequently held interim professorships at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg and again at TU Dortmund University. Research stays have also taken him to York University (Canada), Texas State University, and Florida Atlantic University (USA).
Sören Köcher's research focuses on societally and managerially relevant questions, particularly consumer decision-making, the influence of digital environments and information sources on purchase behavior, and sustainable consumption. His work has been published in journals such as the Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of Retailing, and Journal of Service Research, has received multiple awards, and has been featured in various media outlets.
