Camera-Ready: 10 July 2020

Conference Early Registration: 17 July 2020

Introduction

The ongoing commercialization of consumer VR/AR hardware opens up the field of potential scenarios and applications for VR and AR towards everyday context but simultaneously raise new challenges that need to be addressed in current and future research. These challenges are, for instance, the need for long-term use, the integration of hard- and software into existing work spaces, or the need for flexible and affordable creation of content (as in education). To support research and development in this area of interest, we organize this workshop on VR and AR in Everyday Context (VARECo) bringing together interested researchers and practitioners to discuss current and future work in this research domain.

Topics of Interest

Topics of Interest (list not complete):

  • Integration of VR/AR into professional workflows
  • Integration of VR/AR into consumer applications
  • VR/AR in education
  • Social Acceptance of VR/AR in everyday context
  • Dealing with non-lab, non-standard, constrained environments
  • Dealing with cybersickness
  • Specialized 3DUIs for everyday contexts
  • Sanitary measures in public settings

Submission Information

Papers can be submitted in German or English language (English preferred) and should not exceed 6 pages using the Long Paper format of MuC 2020 (ACM Double Column), which you can download here. It is mandatory that at least one of the authors of an accepted paper is present at the workshop during MuC 2020 to present the paper. For submission, please use the ConfTool selecting the specific workshop track. All submissions will be peer-reviewed and once accepted, the paper is published together with the MuC workshop proceedings.

Call for Submissions for a Special Issue of IWC

Heterogeneous Models and Modeling Approaches for Engineering of Interactive Systems

Submissions are invited from researchers interested in the development, investigation and use of heterogeneous models and modeling methods in the context of user interfaces, interaction techniques, and interactive systems. The terms heterogeneous model and heterogeneous modeling approach may be defined as models and methods that facilitate more than one description concept for the description of an artifact (e.g., BPMN and Petri nets, also referred to as multi-model), as a combination of discrete and continuous processes using a description approach (e.g., discrete and continuous Petri nets, also referred to as hybrid model), or the combination of models of various aspects of a system (e.g., in case of co-simulation).

We invite articles based on the themes outlined above and under the use of existing formal methods for the following list of (not exhaustive) topics:

  • heterogeneous models and heterogeneous modeling approaches
  • formal, semi-formal or informal models and languages
  • perspectives on the creation, semi-automatic or automatic generation of interactive systems using a heterogeneous modeling approach
  • verification, validation and analysis methods for interactive system described using heterogeneous models and approaches
  • model transformation
  • co-simulation
  • applications facilitating heterogeneous models and methods

All submissions will be peer-reviewed by a review committee.

Sept. 15, 2019 – Submission deadline
Nov. 30, 2019 – Notifications
Jan. 15, 2020 – Submission of revised papers
