Gas Networks

The parametric optimization and control of large instationary gas networks requires the development and analysis of models and methods for a stable and fast simulation. A gas network is governed by a coupled system of nonlinear hyperbolic partial differential and algebraic equations for which approximations based on spatial semidiscretizations are considered. From the resulting DAE-systems in time surrogate models can be derived by help of model order reduction. The particular focus lies here on Krylov-subspace methods and interpolation strategies.
