Once again, a death has shaken our university community.

It is with great distress that we have learned of the death of one of our students. According to the current status of the investigation, the police are treating the case as a suspected homicide.

The news of a student’s death fills us with deep sorrow and profound shock. Our thoughts are with her family, her friends, and all those who were close to her. They have our heartfelt sympathy.

Only a few days after the violent death of a student, this new event strikes our university community with full force.

Many members of our university will find this further distressing news deeply upsetting. Grief, uncertainty, and speechlessness are understandable reactions to such an event. Especially now, it is important to be there for one another and to look out for each other.

Together, we would like to pause and remember our fellow student on Thursday, 23 July, at 12 noon in the Kapelle on Campus II. In light of the events of recent days, this is intended to create space for people to come together, pause, and support one another. Books of condolence will be available from 22 July in the Studihaus and in the Staff Club on Campus I. In the Studihaus, emergency pastoral care will be available on site from 10 a.m. on 22 July, as well as on 23 July during the memorial minute in the chapel.

Until then, we would like to encourage all members of the university to make use of the existing support services and to remain in conversation with one another.
