The English ‘Sprachpraxis’ team at Trier University is happy to be hosting the 2026 GASP conference on September 17th and 18th 2026.
Our conference theme is ‘What does Sprachpraxis bring to the English Studies table?’ and we are looking forward to presentations and workshops on practical ideas and inspiration, (controversial) topics worthy of discussion, or other sessions on the value and evolving role of Sprachpraxis in English Studies degrees. The conference will be rounded off by a plenary session by Professor Henning Rossa, and plenty of opportunities for networking and sharing experience and insights.
Call for Papers
We are inviting proposals for conference sessions that relate to the following conference theme:
What does Sprachpraxis bring to the English studies table? Be it practical ideas and inspiration, (controversial) topics worthy of discussion, or other sessions, GASP 2026 aims to explore the value and evolving role of Sprachpraxis in English Studies degrees.
We plan on having 45-minute sessions, so are looking for proposals of a 30-minute presentation with 15 minutes of Q&A, or of a 45-minute interactive workshop. If you have an idea that doesn't fit this mold, please do let us know and we will see if we can accommodate your fomat.
Submissions should include a title, abstract of around 250 words, as well as your name, email address and institutional affiliation.
Please send your submissions as a .doc(x) or .rtf document to gasp@uni-trier.de by July 22nd, 2026.

As Germany's oldest city, Trier is home to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites and is a very popular tourist destination all year round. We recommend booking accommodation well in advance.
