Lydia Jakobs studied English Literature, Media Studies and Spanish Literature at the University of Trier and Hamline University, St. Paul, USA. Her doctoral thesis explores the works of Victorian author George R. Sims and their adaptations in visual media of the 19th and early 20th century. Currently she works as a freelance assistant lecturer for media history and research methodology at the University of Trier. She is the editor of the KINtop newsletter for early cinemaand serves as Research Officer for the Magic Lantern Society of the UK.
