Frequent Visiting Professorships/Fellowships USA, Poland, and at numerous universities in South America, East Asia, and the Pacific region. - Frequent University Evaluator in Scandinavia and the Baltics. – Major awards / honours: ‘Austrian Cross of Honour for Science and Arts 1st Class’; ‘Officier de l’Ordre de Mérite du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg’; Order of the Polish Republic (decided/forthcoming). Has been awarded two ‘Festschriften’: A. Schuth, /K. Horner/J.J. Weber eds. Life in Language and J. Fisiak, ed. (Studia Anglica Posnaniensia 41). - Main research interests: Theoretical and Applied Linguistics, Mediaeval Studies, Language and Culture. - Publications in these fields: author of 4 monographs, ca. 200 scholarly articles, reviews etc.; co-author of 2 monographs, (co)editor of 49 books; series (co)editor of 78 books; advisory editor to various English language school textbook series.
