KINtop 4 (1995): Early non-fiction film
If we look at the way film history has been described by film historians, the least one can say is that non-fiction cinema clearly has been marginalized. This is particularly true for the early period of cinema. An immense part of early film production, such as travelogues, ethnographic "views", scenes of everyday life, and scientific pictures thus has been largely ignored. The articles of this KINtop issue explore different central aspects of early non-fiction practices.
