Partha Lahiri is Professor of the Joint Program in Survey Methodology (JPSM) at the University of Maryland at College Park, and an Adjunct Research Professor of Institute of Social Research, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Prior to joining the University of Maryland, College Park, Dr. Lahiri was the Milton Mohr Distinguished Professor of Statistics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Professor Lahiri’s research on small-area estimation has been widely published in leading journals such as the Biometrika, Journal of the American Statistical Association, Annals of Statistics and Survey Methodology.
He is currently writing a text book on Small Area Estimation to be published by the Cambridge University Press. Dr. Lahiri has served as advisor/consultant to many organizations, U.S. Census Advisory committee, the United Nations, World Bank, Gallup Organization, etc.
Professor Lahiri is on the Editorial Board of many international journals, including the prestigious the Journal of the American Statistical Association and Survey Methodology. He is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association and the Institute of Mathematical Statistics and an elected member of the International Statistical Institute.
