The research group for Educational Psychology, led by Michael Schneider, investigates how learners acquire conceptual understanding and flexible problem-solving skills.

These competencies rest on well organized knowledge structures in long-term memory.

In our research, we investigate how these knowledge structures develop over time and how learning environments can support this process.

In our classes, we discuss these knowledge construction processes and how they are affected by didactic, technological and social variables.
