The research of the chair of Management, Organization Studies and Human Resource Management (MOP) is problem-oriented, concentrating on the three research fields
(strategic) management, organization and human resources as well as their interfaces, and is, starting from business explanatory approaches, fundamentally interdisciplinary aligned with recourse to knowledge from adjacent fields such as psychology, sociology and economics.
The teaching of the chair includes in-depth and specialization courses in the Bachelor's as well as the Master's program in Business Administration. As part of guest lectures, case studies and current scientific topics, the courses are both practice-oriented and provide methodological and conceptual knowledge of scientific work. Study and research projects with changing topics are also offered on a regular basis.
The Master Européen en Sciences du Travail (European Master in Labour Studies) (MEST/EMLS) at the University of Trier aims to make it easier for students of business administration, economics and sociology to acquire economic skills that will qualify them for internationally active companies and international, in particular European organisations, as well as for policy and policy advice in the process of European integration.
