Beyond Borders – The Tandem Project for Refugees interested in studying in Germany
Beyond Borders is a project that unites refugees and students/employees of the university and the Hochschule.
The projects helps refugees settle in Trier and get to know university life, German culture and ways of studying in Trier. Beyond Borders emphasizes intercultural exchange.
Our Participants are free to decide what they do within their tandems.
In addition, we offer different workshops and events, for instance gatherings for our participants in order to get to know other tandems, like our monthly Beyond Borders Café.
If you are interested in the program, feel free to join us for our events and get to know fellows.
Beyond Borders is part of the iZ and we work in cooperation with
- International Office (Akademisches Auslandsamt), contact person: Aziz Yüksek, also student advice)
- Program „Fit fürs Studium“
- Department DaF (Deutsch als Fremdsprache)
- Department of Clinical Psychology, University of Trier
Interested in joining us? Please fill out our online form (see below) where we ask some questions about you in order to find the best tandem partner matches for you.
Usually, our tandems consist of two students/employees from Trier and two refugees. You can also form a tandem with friends, just let us know in the online form.
Of course we can issue you a certification about your social engagement in our project. Beyond Borders also counts for credits of the Diploma Supplement.
In case you have questions concerning this certificate or any other kinds of questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us: beyondbordersiz-trierde.
We are looking forward to hearing from you guys.
