Joseph A. Schumpeter Prize awarded to young economists / Nachwuchswissenschaftler*innen der VWL mit Joseph A. Schumpeter-Preis ausgezeichnet
The prize is awarded once a year for research work in the fields of banking supervision, monetary policy, cash and non-cash payments, and financial stability.
Two young researchers from the Department of Economics have been awarded the Joseph A. Schumpeter Prize 2020. The award ceremony traditionally takes place during the graduation ceremony of Faculty IV, which had to be cancelled due to the corona pandemic. ‚I am pleased that the selection committee chaired by Prof. Laszlo Goerke has again awarded the prize to young colleagues who have contributed to scientific knowledge with great commitment and willingness to perform‘, says the Dean of Faculty IV, Prof. Ludwig von Auer.
Arina Wischnewsky, M.Sc., receives the award for her research entitled Shadow Banks and the Risk-taking Channel of Monetary Policy Transmission in the Euro Area. Dr. Marc-Patrick Adolph, former staff member in the Department of Economics, is awarded for his contribution Structured Eurobonds - Optimal Construction, Impact on the Euro and the Influence of Interest Rates. Both young academics will receive prize money of 2,000 euros each for their contributions.
Nachwuchswissenschaftler*innen der VWL mit Joseph A. Schumpeter-Preis ausgezeichnet
Zwei Nachwuchswissenschaftler*innen aus dem Fach Volkswirtschaftslehre (VWL) wurden mit dem Joseph A. Schumpeter-Preis 2020 ausgezeichent. Mit dem Preis werden einmal jährlich Forschungsarbeiten prämiert, die sich insbesondere Themen aus den Bereichen Bankenaufsicht, Geldpolitik, barer und unbarer Zahlungsverkehr sowie Finanzstabilität widmen.
Die Preisverleihung findet traditionell im Rahmen der Absolventenfeier des Fachbereichs IV statt, die Corona-bedingt jedoch ausfallen musste. „Ich freue mich, dass die Auswahljury um den Vorsitzenden Prof. Lazlo Goerke wieder junge Kolleg*innen mit dem Preis bedacht hat, die mit großem Engagement und Leistungsbereitschaft zum wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnisgewinn beigetragen haben“, sagt der Dekan des FB IV, Prof. Ludwig von Auer.
Arina Wischnewsky, M.Sc., erhält den Preis für ihre Forschungsarbeit mit dem Titel Shadow Banks and the Risk-taking Channel of Monetary Policy Transmission in the Euro Area. Dr. Marc-Patrick Adolph, ehemaliger Mitarbeiter im Fach VWL, wird für seinen Beitrag Structured Eurobonds – Optimal Construction, Impact on the Euro and the Influence of Interest Rates ausgezeichnet. Für ihre Beiträge erhalten beide Nachwuchswissenschaftler*innen ein Preisgeld von jeweils 2.000 Euro.
