Daniel Mischa Helsper

I am a PhD student in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) at the English department of Trier University. In my PhD project, I am developing a domain-specific rating instrument for measuring cognitive activation in English language classrooms. The project is supervised by Prof. Dr. Henning Rossa.

Before joining the department as a PhD student, I studied English, German and Education in Trier and spent some time as a visiting student at the Universities of Cambridge and Aberdeen. I hold both a Master of Education and a Master of Arts in English linguistics.

Students taking my seminar “L2 Classroom Observation” will get the opportunity to participate in a research study and learn how to conduct classroom observations using a standardized rating instrument. Please feel free to contact me for further information.
