Psychosocial and demographic predictors of clinical outcomes in male and female recipients of left ventricular assist devices (LVAD)

Ziel des von der DFG geförderten Projekts „Psychosocial and demographic predictors of clinical outcomes in male and female recipients of left ventricular assist devices“ ist es zu untersuchen, welche Rolle psychosoziale und demografische Faktoren (z.B. Depressivität, soziale Unterstützung, Substanzmissbrauch und Alter) auf das Überleben und auf das Auftreten von Nebenwirkungen (z.B. Infektionen, Schlaganfall, innere Blutungen) bei Frauen und Männern mit implantiertem Herzunterstützungssystem spielen. Die Analysen basieren auf Daten der US-amerikanischen Interagency Registry for Mechanically Assisted Circulatory Support (INTERMACS) sowie der European Registry for Patients with Mechanical Circulatory Support (EUROMACS).
