Best Student Paper awards

IAFPA traditionally hosts the Best Student Paper Award, and Trier will be no exception. Two prizes will be awarded: one for the best paper and one for the best poster. Both winners of this Prize win free registration for next year’s IAFPA conference.

The criteria for participating are:

  • the first author is a student; i.e., registered as a Bachelors/Masters/PhD student

  • the first author presents his/her presentation/poster in person at the conference

  • the majority of the work presented has been done by the student

  • Note that being a student member of IAFPA is not a requirement

Please indicate in your abstract whether your paper is eligible for the Best Student Paper/Poster award.

IAFPA student travel grant

For 2026, there is 1 travel grant of £500 (GBP) available for students who are selffunding attendance at our conference. This year's grant is being funded directly by IAFPA.

Selection Criteria:

  • Applicants must be students, i.e. registered as a Bachelors/Masters/PhD student.
  • Applicants should not already have a full funding to attend the conference from other sources (employers or project grants; the grant may help to 'top-up' other partial sources of funding).
  • Applicants should have an accepted paper for this year's IAFPA conference where they are the first author/presenter (i.e., the majority of the work presented was completed by the applicant).
  • Preferences in grant selections will be given to Student Members of IAFPA.

    Application:

Applications should be submitted via email to: iafpaprotonmailcom

Applicants should provide a PDF copy of their accepted paper, and a short statement about their presentation, their research interests, their funding arrangement and how the grant will help them to attend the conference. The decision will be made by the IAFPA committee members, using conference scientific committee reviewers' comments as a guide.

NOTE: Application deadline is the 30th June 2026.
