Master's Course "Business Analytics"
In the age of digitalization and AI, the importance of data and statistical methods to support business or operational decisions has significantly increased. Various techniques enable the prediction of unknown metrics based on existing data, the identification or classification of customer groups (e.g., by desired or undesired behavior), forecasting the temporal progression of key indicators, and analyzing important cause-and-effect relationships.
For this reason, the Chair of Business Management has been offering the master's course "Business Analytics" for several years. In this course, students learn how to utilize data effectively and apply various methods to meet specific information needs within companies. They learn methods such as conducting surveys, applying classical techniques like cluster analysis, group comparisons, or forecasting, and even utilizing machine learning algorithms.
In the upcoming summer semester (from May to August), we aim to transition into practical application. To achieve this, we are seeking collaboration with you as a practical partner. Together with you, we will identify potential information needs that our students will address over the course of a semester using company-specific data. At the conclusion, the results and methods applied will be visualized and presented to you. If desired, multiple topics can be addressed in parallel. Overall, the course offers valuable opportunities for both students and companies:
- Support for practice-oriented teaching at universities.
- Collaboration with motivated students from various disciplines (business administration, computer science) who bring innovative ideas and creative solutions.
- Identification of innovative metrics and valuable information sources.
- Customized analysis and visualization of information.
- Opportunities for further collaboration through jointly supervised master's theses.
