Welcome to the ICAN!
The Institute for Cognitive & Affective Neuroscience (ICAN), founded in March 2023, is a research hub at the University of Trier focused on the neural basis of human cognition, emotion, and behavior. It brings together researchers from various fields, including psychology, neuroscience, and clinical psychophysiology, in collaboration with external partners from the University of Luxembourg, Trier University of Applied Sciences, and local hospitals.
ICAN fosters collaborative research, offering access to cutting-edge methods like EEG, fNIRS, MRI, VR-labs, and more. The institute also hosts regular colloquia and workshops, providing a platform for knowledge exchange, especially for young scientists. The goal is to explore how the brain processes emotions, cognition, and behaviors, and how these processes are altered in disorders or influenced by different interventions.
