Lucas Küntzer M.Sc.

Lucas Küntzer has been working as a research assistant on the “Immersive Extended Reality for Physical ActiviTy and Health” (XR-PATH) research project since 2025. After completing his master's degree in computer science at Trier University of Applied Sciences in 2022, he began his doctorate as part of a collaboration between Trier University and Trier University of Applied Sciences.

His research investigates the potential and limitations of virtual reality technologies in health psychology applications to promote physical activity - especially in people with heart failure. A central aspect of his work is the research and development of dynamically adaptable training scenarios and feedback mechanisms to increase the motivation and effectiveness of VR-based interventions. He is also developing ROVER [Link: github.com/kuentzel/ROVER], a modular, versatile open-source tool that enables the easy integration and user-friendly use of questionnaires in immersive virtual environments.
