Scientific essay
For the application it is necessary to submit an anglophone scientific essay to value the technical qualification. The topic for the essay is:
"What are key challenges of integrating migrants into the labour force as way to reduce skilled labour shortages? And how do countries differ in responding to these challenges? A comparison between the UK and Germany" (Please note that the essay should be submitted in English.) The length of the essay is about 3 pages (without bibliography) with 1.5 times line spacing and font size 12. No literature references are required in the text itself, but the references that you have used should be included in the bibliography. The essay has to be enclosed with the application documents as a print version and sent digitally to muehlfelduni-trierde.
Language certificate
Please contact Miss Freihoff (international office) regarding the implementation of the language test. Please add the language certificate to the application form. Inform yourself about appointments of language tests, timely. If, due to solid reasons, participation of a language test is not possible, please contact us to find a solution as soon as possible. The language demands are varying between each university, though. Consider the strict regulation for the Amsterdam University that expects you to submit an official Language Certification (like TOEFL), there are no exception being made. Further details for this purpose can be received by Prof. Dr. Katrin Muehlfeld (hrm@uni-trier.de). There should be some ideas being collected regarding the topic of the master thesis at the same time the application is being made; the issue should be referenced to the MEST programme.
