The Chair of "Sociology/Social State" teaches in the Bachelor's degree programmes in Sociology and in the Master's degree programme in Economic Sociology. In the Bachelor's programme, it regularly offers courses in the specialisation "Work and Social Affairs", in the specialisations II (Social Structure and Contemporary Analysis) and III (Sociological Theories) as well as in the Integrated Introduction.

In the Master's programme in Economic Sociology, the module "Social Policy and Inequality" is supported by the professorship with a two-part seminar on "Welfare Capitalism". It provides conceptual foundations and an empirical approach to the dynamics of inequality and its political regulation. In addition, the professorship teaches in other Master's modules, especially in the 2-semester research internship. Here, students learn how to design their own research, how multivariate data analysis methods work and how to conduct their own (online) survey.
