The Department of Biogeography at the University of Trier

We study and teach the numerous abiotic and biotic processes that shape the distribution of animal and plant species. Our research contributes to the fields of phylogeography, range dynamics, evolution, systematics, biodiversity research and ecology (e.g. niche modelling).
The results provide insights for applied objectives in the fields of nature conservation, biomonitoring and environmental specimen banks.
