The research profile of the Department of Social Pedagogy II is characterized by its focus on the following areas:

• Pedagogical institutional research in the area of childhood, youth, family and parenthood, as well as Child and Youth Care
• Socio-pedagogical research regarding the addressees of social work, with an emphasis on the area of childhood studies
• Social Reports and Child Well-Being
• Transnationalization and border studies (particularly with regard to Early Childhood Education and Care in the Greater Region)
• Care relations in the context of the welfare-state
