The Geoinformatics Unit provides various software solutions that are used in environmental remote sensing and geodata analysis. These include FORCE (Framework for Operational Radiometric Correction for Environmental monitoring), a tool developed in C/C++ for pre-processing and analyzing large volumes of Landsat and Sentinel-2 image data. Another offering is MODISFire, an R package for deriving fire regime parameters from standardized MODIS products. This software supports researchers and students in the efficient processing and evaluation of extensive remote sensing data.

We also offer freely accessible data sets - including airborne HySpex data of the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park and the Donnersberg.
