Studies
Are you interested in studying geoinformatics and remote sensing? Then you will find all the information you need to choose a degree programme here.
Our current students will also find a comprehensive overview of topics covered in their degree programme and final thesis.
Study programmes
The Geoinformatics research group offers its own MSc Geoinformatics programme and is represented with a large number of modules in the degree programmes of Faculty VI and other faculties. The main areas of teaching include the application of geoinformation systems, the processing of earth observation and geodata, the analysis of time series and numerous other interdisciplinary topics.
As part of the research group, the MSc Geoinformatics programme offers a fundamental education in these core areas. You will find further information on all degree programmes with modules and specialisations from the specialist network linked below.
If you are interested, please contact our student advisory service for Geoinformatics or Environmental Sciences (II)!
Two English-language Master's degree programmes are currently offered: M.Sc. Geoinformatics and M.Sc. Environmental Sciences II.
All other degree programmes listed below are offered largely or entirely in German.
During Studies
Our current students can find a comprehensive overview of studying and final thesis topics here. If you have any questions about internships as part of one of the modules we offer, please contact the respective module coordinator.
Thesis projects can be offered to both Bachelor's and Master's students in the research group. We provide you with a selection of subject areas from which you are welcome to choose a topic. Do you have your own idea for a thesis or are you planning a co-operative project with a company? In this case, please contact your lecturers directly.
After consultation with the supervisors, the thesis can be officially registered. From the time of registration, the processing time is three months for Bachelor's students and six months for Master's students. At the end of the processing period, the written thesis must be submitted on time and - depending on the requirements of the study regulations - presented in the colloquium of the research group.
The colloquium takes place every Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. during the semester. To be regularly informed about lectures and dates, please send an e-mail to Dr. Achim Röder and ask to be added to the StudIP group ‘Earth Observation and Climate Processes - Colloquium’.
On the following pages, we will inform you about the choice of topics, ongoing and completed thesis projects as well as completed PhDs in the research group.
You will also find important information on the use of artificial intelligence in the preparation of final papers.
