Research areas

The Economic and Social Statistics Department mainly focuses on four research areas:

  • Survey sampling
As part of the main area of research at the department, especially variance estimation methods, sample designs and newer methods of estimation, such as small area methods, are examined in survey statistics.

  • Monte Carlo simulation techniques and computer-intensive statistical methods
This second research area is especially the result of the primary focus of the department's research.

  • Methods for indicators

  • Quality of statistical surveys

Details on the department's individual research projects can be found in the navigation bar on the left side.
