Supporting Foundation

When establishing the TCAS in 2004, the supporting foundation "Verein zur Förderung des Trierer Centrums für Amerikastudien" was called into life. Since then, the supporting foundation has been recognized as a non-profit organization. Donations given to the foundation are, therefore, tax deductible. Should you be interested in joining the foundation as a member, please contact the president of the foundation, Prof. Gerd Hurm, Ph.D. The purpose of the supporting foundation is to help the Trier Center for American Studies in accomplishing its goals as an academic institution. These goals include advancement in our research and teaching in the field of American studies. In particular, the foundation assists the scholarly exploration of American literature and culture in all its diversity. It also backs the center's goal of informing the wider public about recent insights and research issues in American Studies. Specifically, the foundation wants to assist the Trier Center for American Studies with these measures:

› supporting conferences that explore the United States from an interdisciplinary perspective
› organizing informational meetings about the goals of the center
› assisting in the organization of workshops and symposia about American literature and culture.
