Strangers become Friends

[Translate to Englisch:] Platzhalter

We are looking for families in Trier and the surrounding area who are interested in interacting with international students for a semester (or longer). Families who want to expand or refresh their foreign language skills participate in our program. The international students also benefit from this. They often want additional contact and interaction with native Germans. The goal of the project is to connect these newly arrived international students (Erasmus students or international students) with Trier families. This does not mean that they will stay with you; rather, the focus is on shared leisure activities.

Prerna and Ulyana run Strangers Become Friends. Please write to them at connectiz-trierde.

Anmeldebogen 1 for Families/single parents/individuals, Anmeldebogen 2 for Internationals.

Language Evening (Sprachabend)

[Translate to Englisch:] Platzhalter

Languages are best learned by speaking them! We meet every week for our international language evening. There, we speak various foreign languages in a relaxed atmosphere over tea and snacks. Native speakers lead the various language get-togethers and answer questions about the language and culture.

The language evening takes place every Tuesday between 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. in the Studihaus.

Your contacts are Clea and Sarah. You can reach them by email: speakiz-trierde

Proofreading

International students struggle to write academic texts (term papers, presentations, talks, etc.) because they are expected to be at the same level as their German classmates. Therefore, we help with this in our proofreading project. We answer questions during office hours and provide assistance with wording.

We also correct the spelling of term papers and theses.

Please feel free to contact Clea and Malaurie with your questions and concerns at the following email address:proofreadingiz-trierde

Additionally, up to 20% of German students are accepted for the popular short trips.

International cooking project

[Translate to Englisch:] Platzhalter

During the semester, we regularly organize an international cooking evening. International students show us how to cook a dish from their country, which we then prepare and eat together.

If you would also like to show us a specialty from your country, please contact us at cookiz-trierde!

The cooking project is led by Kritik and Marlena.
