The focus of the professorship in Media and Communication Studies is on researching public media communication (particularly journalism and strategic communication). The emphasis is on digital public spheres, which are also studied using methods from Computational Social Science (e.g., network analysis). In teaching, the professorship mainly covers research on communicators and media content. Prof. Nuernbergk is responsible for the introductory lecture on media structures and the public sphere.
