The Department Geoinformatics - Spatial Data Science is part of the cluster Geoinformatics in the Faculty VI (Spatial and Environmental Sciences) of Trier University. Junior-Prof. Dr. David Frantz is the head of the department.

We focus on processing and analysis of big geospatial data for a variety of environmental research questions with an emphasis on operational satellite image archives.
