The International Research Training Group "Diversity" establishes contact between scholars and doctoral students from Montréal, Saarbrücken and Trier. It pursues an innovative research program in the topical areas of diversity, multiculturalism and transnationalism by examining paradigmatic changes and historical transformations through the interpretation of multicultural realizations in Canada, Germany and France.

Currently, the IRTG "Diversity" is the academic home of 18 PhD students. Research assistants, associated post-doctoral fellows, established scholars, and administrative staff at all three institutions complete the IRTG team.
