Concentration "Schwerpunktbereich 8"

The concentrations present the rules of the new information society: Intellectual property rights and data rights can be both a motor and a brake on creative and innovative processes. Freedom of expression and personal rights collide on blogs, Internet forums and rating portals. Consumer protection on the Internet creates necessary trust and a balance with strong market companies, but causes bureaucratic effort and costs. The line between humorous advertising in social networks and inadmissible disparagement of a competitor is blurred, also how clearly content marketing needs to point out  that it is advertising at all. What limits does antitrust law set for Google & Co. and why didn't the antitrust authorities examine the merger of Flixbus and Postbus? Networking does not stop at national borders:  For this reason, the individual events will also deal with international contexts and cross-border protection systems.
