Dear citizens of Trier and the surrounding area,

more than 1600 international students from 97 countries are studying at the University of Trier and live in our beautiful city. If you have ever spent your vacation abroad, you will know: It is only through the contact and exchange with the people who live there that one really gets to know a country. But someone who is foreign in a country often finds it difficult to make new contacts there.

The Friendship-Family Program (“Fremde werden Freunde”), a collaborative project of the International Centre and the International Office of the University of Trier (Akademisches Auslandsamt), therefore brings international students and hospitable people from Trier together. It offers international students an insight into the daily life of the citizens of Trier.

This is why the International Centre is looking for hospitable, friendly people who could and would love to spend time with international students, celebrate holidays with them or also invite them into their homes. The Friendship-Family Program thus helps to promote the intercultural exchange with and the integration of the international students who live in our city.

Take part in the Friendship-Family Program!
