Research facilities

The department disposes of laboratory facilities including instruments for analysing solid, liquid and gaseous substances. The quality standards of the analyses are guaranteed by a continuous participation in supra-institutional test programs.

An isotope ratio mass spectrometer allows for in-depth studies of physiological traits of plants and of matter fluxes in plants and ecosystems.

A phytotron for experimental plant cultures and a greenhouse for growing a larger number of plants, which is also equipped for processing soil and plant samples, are available for research and academic education. Ecophysiological field studies are facilitated by modern devices for studying plant water relations and the H2O/CO2 gas exchange of plants.

The laboratories are well equipped with modern analysers which are used for research as well as for teaching purposes.
