Hotels

In terms of residential location, hotels in the historic old town around the "Porta Nigra", Trier's landmark, are highly recommended. In general, if you are looking for a hotel outside of the city center, there is a good range of options available. It is also possible to stay overnight in the immediate vicinity of the university.

The hotels listed below in old town locations can be reached on foot from Trier main station in 5-10 minutes:

The prices depend on the season and the length of stay (rich breakfast buffet included). The distance to the university from these hotels is approximately 5 kilometers. It takes about 10 minutes to get to the university by taxi.

There is also the option to stay overnight in a hotel, just about a 10-minute walk from Campus II of the university:

Sightseeing Features

Of course, Trier also has a wealth of sights to offer. In addition to the landmark, the "Porta Nigra", the Trier Cathedral, the Imperial Baths and the Basilica of Constantine are impressive Roman buildings. Directly between the basilica and the imperial baths is the Electoral Palace, one of the most beautiful rococo palaces in the world, with its extensive palace garden. Events, Food and Drink

For leisure activities, the internet portal Hunterttausend.de offers a good overview of various events and activities in Trier and the surrounding area. A combination of sightseeing and an event, such as a concert in the Roman amphitheater, is a particularly interesting option.

To pamper your body and soul, the restaurants, cafés and bars on the Main market, Kornmarkt or Viehmarkt are a good choice. The large and colorful pedestrian zone in the city center also invites you to explore between these junctions.
