200 words to present a research question at a conference? 1000 characters to reflect the quintessence of your own journal article? At the end of the doctorate, the entire dissertation project probably has to be summarized on less than half a page. The abstract is one of the most important genres among scientific texts.

The workshop gives an introduction to writing abstracts and introduces the rules and procedures for this type of text. In this workshop, the participants write an abstract on their respective research topic or a selected aspect and discuss the designs together.
