Kurzvita

Prof. Dr. Katrin Muehlfeld hat von 1993 bis 1998 Betriebswirtschaftslehre an der WWU Münster und Volkswirtschaftslehre an der University of Cambridge studiert und im Jahr 2003 an der WWU Münster promoviert. Nach Lehr- und Forschungstätigkeiten u.a. an der London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), der University of Groningen, der Utrecht University, und der University of Antwerp, hat sie seit 2014 die Professur für Management, Organisation und Personal an der Universität Trier inne. Neben Ihrer Tätigkeit an der Universität Trier ist Prof. Dr. Muehlfeld als Dozentin am Zentrum für Fernstudien und Universitäre Weiterbildung (ZFUW) der Universität Koblenz tätig.

In Forschung und Lehre befasst sich Prof. Dr. Muehlfeld mit einem breiten Spektrum an Themen aus den Bereichen Organisation, Personal bzw. Human Resource Management (HRM) und (Strategisches) Management. Unter anderem widmet sie sich dem Entscheidungs- und Lernverhalten auf individueller, Team- und Gruppenebene,  den Einflüssen von Kultur und Fremdsprache auf die Unternehmensorganisation und das Personalmanagement, sowie den Auswirkungen der zunehmenden Einführung von Robotik und künstlicher Intelligenz auf Organisationen generell und Teilnehmende des aktuellen (derzeit Beschäftigte) und zukünftigen Arbeitsmarktes (Schüler:innen und Studiernde). Prof. Dr. Muehlfeld veröffentlicht regelmäßig in führenden Zeitschriften innerhalb Ihrer Forschungsschwerpunkte, unter anderem Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management, Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Academy of Management Learning & Education, und Computers in Human Behavior. Sie ist regelmäßig als Fachgutachterin für nationale und internationale Zeitschriften, Konferenzen und Förderorganisationen tätig und engagiert sich seit 2023 als Associate Editor Mitglied im Herausgebergremium der Zeitschrift Academy of Management Learning & Education.

Neben ihrer Arbeit als Hochschullehrerin berät Prof. Dr. Muehlfeld Unternehmen und öffentliche Institutionen zu Fragestellungen aus ihren Themengebieten und hält Praxisvorträge.
