Bastian Dürr is a research associate and doctoral student at the Chair of Government: Political Economy of China. He obtained a Master’s degree in "International Economics and Public Policy M.A." at Trier University. His Master thesis analysed economic and political consequences of demographic gender imbalances in the People's Republic of China. In his doctoral project, Bastian Dürr studies the European Union's capacity to respond to the strategic challenges posed by Chinese trade- and investment policies and Sino-European economic interdependencies. As part of the TRANSMARE research group, he participates in the coordination of research activities surrounding the topic of maritime economies.
