Study Programs

We are currently offering two academic programs. The bachelor’s program "Media and Communication Studies" and the master’s program "Media Studies". Both focus on communications in the digital public sphere and train students in the analysis of current phenomena of media and communication with qualitative, quantitative as well as computational methodology.

The programs focus on actors of the media system, media production and content, as well as reception and effects of mediated messages. In addition, the bachelor’s program features a number of practical courses introducing students to a range of communication professions. A key aspect of the curriculum is the emphasis on hands-on, project-based learning in seminars.

Our study programs prepare for working in different areas of the publishing and media sector, especially journalism and public relations, media and marketing research, media management, media design, as well as in academic research and education.
